I live only 3 minutes from the Leningrad Zoo. Shame to me, rarely go there to draw. Better to do it more often It's very hard to draw alive animals, because they move all the time, thoose you choose nocturnal (owls), lazy (deer) or sleeping animals for the role of models. Of course I try to draw moving animals too, but all I get are just a page full of "two lines" figures. Another big problem is that Russian Zoos are poor and old fashioned, animals live behind a thick grating You can't see body shape of small animals at all.
These are really good. I work in a zoo as a photographer and to draw animals I just take photos it's easier especially when I have to make some designs for the zoo and I'm in a hurry (second part of my job there is graphic design) but when I have some free time I like to walk around with my sketchbook and draw animals. In our zoo we have less and less cages so luckilly I can see whole animals but true, they move too fast sometimes

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
